Associate Stories – The people behind the passion

Every associate in the Rich’s family is driven by a shared passion for creating endless possibilities through innovation and community upliftment. Martie Fourie, lead developer for our Toppings, Creams and Culinary Solutions (TCCS) portfolio, shares her thoughts on the lasting contribution Rich’s South Africa is making through Research & Development (R&D), as well as our various community initiatives.

Q: How has the R&D team pushed the boundaries to create innovative products for our customers?

A: Innovation is the cornerstone of Rich’s, and we constantly explore new ways to develop products that meet (and exceed) our customers’ needs. We are often inspired by our customers to overcome their operational challenges, which is so rewarding when we succeed. These challenges help us dive deeper and push the boundaries of our capabilities to make our own business and theirs better. It’s this ongoing commitment to innovation that’s crucial to our success in solving critical problems.

Q: What product innovation do you feel has had the biggest impact on the business and our customers?

A: Our first-to-market pre-whipped products allowed us to offer customers a simple solution to meet everyday challenges – saving them time, money and effort. Furthermore, these products can be used in different applications from garnishing dishes to topping beverages. A win for customers and a delicious end-product for consumers.

Q: How is Rich’s having a genuine impact on the community you live and work in?

A: I am proud to say that I work for an organisation that constantly invests in and gives back to the community. As part of our efforts, we donate products to various charitable organisations on a monthly basis, which are then distributed to those in need.

At Rich’s, we see every day as an opportunity to innovate and make a positive difference in the lives of everyone we touch – from our associates and the customers we work with to the communities in which we operate.
